LIVE AT NOON: Can We Learn From Polanski?
Roman Polanski was arrested in Switzerland on a 31-year-old statutory rape charge earlier this year, and many Hollywood stars immediately rallied to his defense. As Polanski remains under house arrest, we ask Trish Kinney, Michael Musto and Dominic Lawson if any good can come of a trial, and why stars seem to be given a free pass on horrific behavior.

Michael Jackson was never convicted of the child molestation charges bought against him, and should not be lumped in the same category as Polanski. The attached video barely mentions Jackson, most likely for this reason.

‘Stars’ and the famous are bait for any prosecutor with political ambitions. I noticed that Elizabeth Taylor – a neighbour – never ceased to defend Michael Jackson, describing him as a sweet innocent whose money made him a target. Right or wrong, I should think her opinion at least impartial : which is more than can be said for most.

Why would there be a trial? Polanski pleaded guilty.

he plead guilty but ran from his punishment. But the judge decided he was not going to accept the plea. Now Polanski can either plead again, this time without claiming his innocence, or he can stand trial.

she was 13, he was 43 and she said no… she said no over and over and when he asked if she were on the pill (at 13?) and she said no, he sodomized her.
What planet are you getting your facts from?

Polanski plead to unlawful sex with a minor. but that is not what he did, he drugged and raped a 13 year old child. The only reason he was allowed to plea bargain is because her family did not want her to have to testify.
Now all these years later he says “why should I have to suffer and have my life ruined for making love”?
He is not only a pervert, but he is in denial. He is a brilliant director and “The Pianist” is one of my top five movies of all time. But this is about other’s seeing that in America we have laws that punish rapists so don’t do it.

The man belongs in jail. Period. With some extra time as “interest” for all of the time he has been on the lam.
