Essential Dissent: Syracuse Protests Wealthcare
Protesters in Syracuse, New York protested for single-payer, "Medicare for All" outside of Wellpoint last week. They spoke out against the proposed mandate and subsidies for private insurance companies in the coming health care reform bill. The arrest of one protester and the picket line were captured on video exclusively for GRITtv by Wilton Vought of Essential Dissent, as well as commentary by an Iraq veteran, who points out that more people die from lack of health care each year than died on 9/11.

Thanks to GRITtv and Wilton for helping to publicize this important issue – Single Payer is essential to actually solving our health care problems. It would reduce the cost of health care and include everyone in one comprehensive plan. Until we get the for-profit insurance companies out of the business of health inaueinf and using 20% of our health care dollar for profits and advertising we will not have an equitable system. Mainstream media is largely ignoring this fact and we appreciate your support in spreading the word.
