Week in Review: Happy Halloween with Kyria Abrahams
Kyria Abrahams shared with us a few things that were considered "evil" in her childhood: Smurfs, Halloween, and even yard sale furniture. Abrahams grew up a Jehovah's Witness and has written a memoir about her youth and her decision, as an adult, to leave the religion.
Well, apparently Jehovah's Witnesses aren't the only ones who think Halloween is evil. Apparently even the candy you buy in the store during the Halloween season is suspect! The Huffington Post notes that the Christian Broadcasting Network (part of Pat Robertson's media empire) printed a blog post by Kimberly Daniels calling for Christians to avoid buying candy or trick-or-treating around Halloween for fear of demons.
In case you're more worried about fair labor practices than demons, here's a list of union-made candy from Union Plus.
