Week in Review: Latino in America but Ignored in the Media
Coverage of Latino Americans is nearly always focused on immigration issues, ignoring the vast experiences of millions of people.
This week, our media panel focuses on those ignored issues, from the Basta Dobbs! campaign to the general strike in Puerto Rico, the continued standoff in Honduras and the way the mainstream media equates "Latino" with "immigrant." Joining us are Roberto Lovato of Presente.org and New America Media, Erica Gonzalez of El Diario/La Prensa, and Cathy Areu of Catalina magazine and the Washington Post magazine.

Latino in America Huh! The Latino’s don’t get it. If they want to be respected as part of America, then they have to respect our laws. When they lump themselves in with the illegals, and say they are just emigrants, like all the rest of us, they are forgetting the fact they came into the Country illegally.
All the people before them didn’t just walk in, and went through hell at Ellis Island proving themselves to be of groups being let in.
After here, they worked their butts off, not just to live, but to learn Enlish and become citizens. They loved this Country and worked themselves to the bone to be part of it.
Today people want to come here and use the Country, but not to be ask to be part of it. There is a hugh difference in those that came years ago, and what we are letting in today.

P.S. Some of what this babe said she should be greatly ashamed of, but she is free to say and think what she want’s because of this Country.
