In this week's Got Docs? we take a look at 'What's Organic about Organic?', a new film by Shelley Rogers. She follows around activists, scientists, and most importantly, farmers, as they look at the issues involved in 'being organic'.

Thanks Laura, this is a conversation we need to have, what with big Agra moving into the market.

Yup. Big Ag knows less cruel, more nutritious and healthy animals and vegtables are what Americans want. They’re not producing them; they’re producing their moral and nutritional opposite. So it’s attempting to appropriate the label “organic”. Applying it to products from ADM or Smithfield would be like calling Wal-Mart pro-union.

Thanks very much Laura. This came up in a terrific FDL book salon with Marion Nestle (WHAT TO EAT).
