They say the pen is mightier than the sword and that proved to be true this May. On the eve of the opening of the 2009 Palestine Festival of Literature, Israeli border police ordered the Palestinian National Theater in East Jerusalem to be closed due to security concerns -- but the UNESCO-sponsored festival refused to surrender.  Palestinian-American poet Suheir Hammad addressed the crowds on the third day.
