Lynn Paltrow Founder and Executive Director of National Advocates for Pregnant Women, Jennifer Pozner Executive Director of Women In Media & News (WIMN), Sunsara Taylor a writer for Revolution Newspaper, and an abortion provider on the death of Dr. George Tiller, the eighth abortion provider murdered since 1977. Will the media rehearse the same old arguments and how will pro-choice organizations respond?

Just ventured over to Fox & read the Cal Thomas thread – man, there is a lot of hate & justification of murder over there.

Just left this comment under “Her Good Doctor” and feel it bears repeating:
I think it would be important to provide some context for Dr. Tiller’s work. What are the clinical issues that bring patients to Dr. Tiller? I imagine that the ethical and moral issues may well be complex. Suppose the chance of survival of the fetus was very low and survival would entail a short life with much pain and suffering. At the same time, suppose the mother’s life was at high risk unless a late-term abortion were performed. Is the fetus sacrosanct under such circumstances? Under some ethical/moral belief systems it may be — but not all and who should choose? I fear the death of Dr. Tiller will only revive a simplistic abortion/anti-abortion “debate.” My hope is that some of the complexity of such situations and decisions will emerge.

I bit the bullet and turned on Bill O’Reilly on FNC to hear the ‘Talking Points’ memo. I’m so angry, it’s been a long time since something upset me this much, even though I fully expected to hear what I heard.
He absolved himself of any connection with the murder. As far as he’s concerned, he was reporting the facts. Everyone coming out against him in the media are (and I quote) ‘Fox News haters’. He accused Kos and Huffington of being biased and never writing one word in defense of the 60,000 abortions Tiller has performed. That Tiller represented himself as someone ‘helping women’ was, to Bill, reprehensible.
He then proceeded to bring on ‘guests’ who were most likely chosen to having similar viewpoints. Fair and balanced, my left knee.
