This highlights a contradiction that arises in many or most of these kinds of discussions. US thinkers and planners usually emphasize that their country, the US, is the ‘greatest’ country, has the best values in the world etc. etc. etc. Given the complexities of changing any large and old system, it would seem to be paralyzing to be stuck in this cunundrum of deep belief in one’s exceptionalness and a hope for change.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
