There was dancing in the streets throughout the country last night as news of Barack Obama's historic victory made the rounds. Forty Seven Years after the Freedom Ride Campaign to register African-American voters in the Jim Crow South, the United States has elected its first African-American president.

Not just American eyes were glued to the results last night. The entire world was tuned in. What effect do your panelists think our election could have globally in terms of breaking down racial barriers in governments throughout the world?

I wonder if Katrina vanden Heuvel would be a good addition to an Obama administration as policy adviser. Seems her experience writing about issues for years and as administrating editor might be very useful.
