We don’t really have lines here in my part of California, which is nice.
People in Virginia (on TV) are doing their part and standing in the rain! Very long line. Go VA!

I’m at Obama HQ in Towson MD (40 West Chesapeake). Our office opened at 5:30 AM and volunteers started arriving at 7, two hours before we began phonebanking. We have filled this office and are close to filling a satellite office; we will then open at least two more. We can use every single volunteer we can get — bring cellphone+charger if you have, bring laptop+charger if you have. We also need help getting campaign literature and signs out to some polling locations. We’ve also rented and filled vans that have already taken two shifts of canvassers to Harrisburg PA.
Bottom line: if you’re within shouting distance, we need your help right now. Even a few hours of your time could make the difference in PA or VA or anywhere else we’re calling. And we’ll be here — we’re not leaving until this thing is over.
Our phone numbers: 410-823-2008, 410-386-8515.

Hi Laura!
They had long lines at my precinct this morning. They’ve never had any lines at all before. I decided to wait till after work to vote.

I just voted in Berkeley – short line at the firehouse. Apparently we caught the lull after the on-the-way-to-work crowd. Mrs. punaise cast her first ever presidential vote.
A big shout-out to everybody who has done so much for this historic campaign.

Dear Barack,
I feel your pain, and know how torn you must feel right now. Our prayers are all with you, and know how important your message of diplomacy has affected all of us.
You will get through this, as we all will, in these troubling times. Just keep going, for all of us. The World needs you right now, and this is a last chance before this election to make it happen. We all know how important Grandmother Madelyn Dunham was to you, and her Spirit will be with you.
I came up with this slogan for the campaign:
For love, harmony and peace, put your X next to O – Obama for President – XO XO XO

I voted absentee in Indiana – ballot went in mail on Friday. I’ve made over 320 calls for Obama starting during the Indiana Primary election. 28 so far to day, I expect by the day’s end that will be over 100 calls.
I’m a little saddened that my mother’s traveling board absentee vote will likely be challenged, but I’m also fired up to make sure that we elect Obama.
End of the day we’re going to be saying “yes we did”.
History in the making.

Karl Rove has declared that Obama will win every battleground state but Missouri. What’s is motive here? Vote suppression in the west? What can we do about it?
By Dennis223 on November 4th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
I spent and hour-and-a-half in line this morning at my tiny, little Indiana town. I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes to vote before.
I don’t know if that’s bad or good in my largely Republican district.
My wife got off work early and is heading to the polls. She called a friend who’s in line now. She’s been in line for 2 hours and says she has at least another 30 minutes before she gets to the front. That’s at mid-afternoon, not the usual morning and evening rush times.

What is the skinny on companies like Smartech and Triad doing the custody manipulation of the tallies, like in ‘04, about which Mike Connell just stonewalled in deposition yesterday? Are techs tracking whatever can be tracked about their work today?

I am thinking of Steve Gilliard these last few days. How he would have captured this historic, tumultuous time and offered commentary that would leave a lasting impression. When I watch the results come in, I will think of Steve and thank him for lighting a fire under me.
