Lisa I had the pleasure of attending the convention in Denver this year. I also attended the First (native) Americans, African American, Hispanic and Senior caucuses. The senior caucus was of course focused on this issue and getting the word out. Not sure if it has clearly enough.
I was able to ask Franklin Roosevelt’s grandson ( a main speaker) if he thought the Bush administration came in with an agenda to but Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. His answer was lengthy but he did use the word “absolutely”
I quoted from Ron Susskind’s book “The Price of Loyalty” and how Former Secretary of the Treasury Paul O’neil had said that he and Greenspan had plans to take part of the Clinton surplus and flip a substantial amount over to upcoming shortfalls in SS, Medicare and Medicaid. But that surplus was soon gone.
