Andrew Tyndall. He's claims to have watched every single weekday network nightly newscast since the summer of 1987 - we have no information to the contrary - and writes about it in The Tyndall Report.

So what does he see? "Reality Game Show Journalism." Think Survivor or The Amazing Race, a series of events where the candidates are seen up-close and personal, but at the level of spectacle. For instance, there's been a lot of financial news, but NOT in terms of the election. Tyndall tracks what appears to be a wall between these stories on corporate tv, covered as if they do not intersect.

He also thinks the lack of coverage below the presidential level distorts what's really going on across the nation, where there's plenty of ground shifting in congressional races. And there's been nary a whisper about Iraq on the nightly network shows since just after Labor Day.
