The “church”, whichever it may be, is the oldest scheme for fleecing the sheep. You walk in, pay money, and get talked at. Does this make anyone feel as though the fee was worth it? It is quite embarrassing that people over the age of 8 or so would be involved in such practice. The reality v. fantasy involved is repellent to many of us that think and have gone to school to learn about the world around us. Religion requires that you ignore reality, and that seems a high price to pay for ignorance.

Do wackos exisit in all churches?

Yes.

But, what about the churches who are lead by wackos?

Rod Parsley?
Welch?
John Hagee?

They are all conservative.
And, they are all prophets for profit.
It’s the church of them and their preachings are all about fullfilling their agendas, not Christ’s.

If it were not true, then please explain to me why so many Christian preachers and priests have they forgotten that Christianity’s central theme The Sermon on the Mount?

With the compliance of the MSM, which, unfortunately, knows so little about religion that it has routinely let the Jerry Falwells and Pat Robertsons of the world speak for all “people of faith,” without doing much to find people of faith who might disagree with them.

The religious left is out there. You may have heard of the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Church — the one where the deranged, estranged husband shot up the congregation because they were “liberal.”

These churches are active. In California, there are a number of liberal churches that are pro gay rights, and are fighting Prop 8. Still others are involved in the sanctuary movement.

What we hear from the media is that churches are supposed to be conservative. Bill Maher drives that point home in his new movie. So religion, just like the flag, have been trademarked and taken over by the conservatives. So anyone else of faith who is outside those boundaries set by that agenda by definition do not exist.

Maybe some righteous church spokesperson can ask a very simple question:

If the US financial system is worth $2 trillion to rescue, why can’t the House at the same time a bill introduce a bill lifting the income cap for Social Security deductions thereby eliminating the silly excuse that there is no way to fix Social Security?

Everyone’s angry that CEOs and other criminals are looting the Treasury, this would force them to do something positive that will have a great psychological boost for people approaching retirement.

The only reason that capitalists are against Social Security is because they feel that any worker who is able to retire hasn’t worked hard enough. If a worker isn’t dead or close to it when s/he tries to retire capitalists feel cheated.

i agree about Rev. Wright. They are taking snippets to attack him. I believe they will be attaacking him again soon, unfortunately.

The “left” are more humanist rather than doctrinal. They like to help the less fortunate homeless feeding programs and overflow shelter. They are more closely associated with the non profits that help battered woment, gay rights, hospices and other humanitarian aid.
They help register voters and care for the environment. They are troops on the ground helping people…wothjput the mandatory sermon of the skid row missions.
Not to say that the right churches don’t do good…it comes with religious participation moreso.

I have been wondering where the Sojourners are, where We Believe Ohio is, where the media is when I have yet to see a substantive interview with a pastor, priest or rabbi or any within the Juedo/Christian community come out against the unbridled racism and bigotry of the McCain/Palin campaign.

It seems sheep are now leading the flocks.

And, where has it been reported that Dobson, Robertson, Parsley, et al have condemmed the zenophobic and hate inciting speeches of Palin and the McCain campaigners.

Shame on all of them who have remained silent.
