In Bolivia, wealthy landowners have vowed to make their country ungovernable as a last ditch effort to undermine the democratically elected President Evo Morales - who recently expanded his mandate with a landslide victory in a referendum.  67% of voters backed Morales's plan to redistribute wealth and nationalize the country's hydrocarbon resources.

But the elites aren’t having it. The conflict has claimed at least 30 lives so far in Pando province, which was put under martial law on Friday, September 13. Alleging a coup plot, US envoys have now been dismissed from Bolivia, Venezuela, and Honduras.
