By any measure this year's Democratic convention bears the weight of history. Barack Obama is the first Black candidate to receive a major party nomination and his acceptance speech will coincide with the 45th anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington. Actor, activist, producer, and director Danny Glover joins us to discuss the significance of this moment: What's happened to the dream?
GRITtv will be streaming live at 12.00 (noon) Eastern/ 9 am Pacific. Want to talk with Danny Glover?

Thanks for joining us today, Danny. I’m wondering if you could talk about the subtle use of racial imagery by the McCain campaign, and how we might be able to respond effectively to that.

Great Laura!!
Danny Glover is the best!
I’m lovin’ it. Yes! Yes!
Can’t wait to see the movie. Up with Hugo Chavez!!!
Glover speaks so eloquently to the truth.
I have often wished that he might seek political office himself.
Much thanks, Laura.

Let’s hope Barack Obama does talk to our “enemies.” (Who I feel appalled to consider “my enemies”)
I am glad somebody brings up the number of Iraqi civilian casualties. If it’s a million plus millions of displaced, then this war starts to seem downright genocidal.
