GRITtv is marking the three-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina with a special week of programming beginning August 18. The anniversary falls during the Democratic convention so our special coverage begins the week before. The kind of programming GRITtv has been bringing you for the last three months, all of the guts and all of the grit, will continue. A new film produced by Danny Glover, Trouble the Water premiers that same week and we’ll be showing parts of it here. We’ll have in-studio panels on the post-Katrina experience, reporting on the important issues facing the Gulf Coast region, and artists and writers who, through their work, have given voice to a pivotal moment in American history.
We’d also like to know what you think. What should we be talking about and whom should we be talking to on the third anniversary of Hurricane Katrina? What are your stories? If you have something to say, show ideas, thoughts, share them with us. GRITtv wants your input and we want you to be a part of the conversation.
In addition to the anniversary week of programming we will be streaming live from our NY studio. And we’ll be taking questions from you, our viewers. So don’t wait. Let us know what you think.
