While most political junkies and the rest of the America electorate are trained exclusively on the Presidential race, with recent polls indicating Obama pulling ahead of McCain, their hopes are vested in winning the White House. However, a growing posse of progressive elected officials and state leaders remain focused on building power at the state and local level. They have formed at the Progressive States Network, which just celebrated their year at their annual gala in New York City with Tom Daschle and co-founder David Sirota. We welcome representatives of PSN to the GRITtv studio today to discuss how progressives get elected to office and win other victories at the state level, while building a national coalition to keep themselves working as a team, and in doing so are beginning to turn red states blue.
